How to Blind Yourself with Color

Here are some Work In Progress (WIP) shots from my current project.

We start with an inked drawing and flat colors.
We decide on the color schemes and block in the colors.
Rough basic shading to get started.
These are the color schemes I chose, in case you wanted to see them.
Block in the colors for the hair.
 Shade that hair!
Block in the colors for the eyes and shirt.
 Aaaaaand shade!
Now we have the "feel" of everything so now I go in and start refining things a bit more.
 Remove the lines!
Fill in color where the lines used to be.

I'll be updating with more WIP shots and the finished piece soon.
